Maths

In the Mathematics Learning Area, students are encouraged in a supportive and flexible classroom environment to develop their Numeracy, Mathematical and Problem Solving skills across a wide range of contexts and topics. All students’ abilities in mathematics are catered for by students working in streamed pathways which offer opportunities to maximise students’ potential by enabling them to participate in learning based on their own performance and skills.

Students are provided with open-ended activities and questions that invite curiosity, exploration and manipulation of ideas and materials. They will learn to use a variety of technologies to assist them in the development of their Mathematical skills and understandings. As well as learning to read, write and interpret questions which require Mathematical knowledge to solve.

The Mathematics Learning Area provides a number of challenging and well planned programs to help guide the student’s growth and proficiency levels throughout their schooling. This in turn, prepares the students to demonstrate their talents within the workforce or in further studies.
