The Vocational Education and Training (VET) Programs offered to students within the school enhance opportunities for students to gain employment or continue further studies at TAFE and University levels. Students are able to complete a Certificate in Levels II, III or IV within the school, and by external training providers depending on their specific interest.
Programs offered include:
- Health Services Pathways (includes a Certificate IV in Preparation for Nursing Education as well as new entry-level course offerings)
- Pathway to Trades (entry into this pathway is conditional on students being accepted into profile courses offered by external state and private training providers). The programs offered vary from year-to-year and currently include:
- Building and Construction trades (Carpentry, Plumbing & Gasfitting, Electrical, Brick & Block)
- Engineering trades (Heavy and Light Fabrication, Fitter/Machinist, Plant Mechanic)
- Automotive Trades (Light Mechanical, Heavy Mechanical, Vehicle Painting, Vehicle Body Repair, Vehicle Body Building)
- Aeroskills (Aircraft Mechanical)
Some of the trade courses are pre-apprenticeships and as a result can improve student chances of gaining an apprenticeship and reduce apprenticeship time.
