Year 7 – 10 Fee Structure
Voluntary Contributions for Year 7-10 Contributions in WA Government schools are set at a maximum of $235 per student. Payment enables the school to assist with the running of programs, and to enrich the basic curriculum by providing resources that add value to your child’s learning experience. Parent contributions allow schools to provide text books instead of students having to provide their own, are used to purchase reading and library materials, curriculum resources and a variety of services and facilities which support our educational programs for your child. Declining payment of voluntary contributions places a large burden on the school community. The continuing partnership between schools and parents is vital to ensuring that all students receive a level of education sufficient to carry them forward in today’s society.
Compulsory Charges for Year 7-10 are for optional high cost and enrichment items associated with a particular course. Some examples include: ingredients in Home Economics cooking classes, transport, photographic equipment and supplies, art materials, timber, metals, and consumables. If your child has chosen for an option with an associated cost this cost will be compulsory.
Year 11 – 12 Compulsory Charges Structure
All Course Charges in Year 11 and 12 are compulsory. Charges will depend upon the course chosen. Some specific courses will incur higher costs dependent upon such items as text, subject specific resources, materials, excursions, certificates and work placement.
It would be appreciated if school contributions and charges are paid prior to the end of Term 1 unless payment arrangements have been made with the student accounts officer. The services of a debt collection agency are used for all unpaid charges. To ensure your account is not referred to this agency, please make contact with the school prior to the end of term 1.
Specialist Programs
Maritime, Specialist Sports and a Rugby Focus Program are offered at Rockingham Senior High School and will incur compulsory charges over and above the voluntary contribution for a nominal curriculum choice.
Charges for Specialist Programs are required to be paid prior to commencement in the program or as stated on the contract you have been provided. Failure to make payment for Specialist Programs may result in your student being removed from the program.
Payment Options for Families
The school is only too aware that the payment of contributions and charges can be stressful for some families. Part payments and credit card debits are all available to support parents experiencing difficulties. However, we do need to talk to you about your options for payment. Ignoring accounts and reminders is unhelpful to all parties.
